Last friday night Tom took Sophie on her first camping adventure - in the backyard! He set up the tent, then they set up camp together. Sophie went around the house with a backpack collecting essential supplies! It was so cute to see what she thought she should pack for her big adventure. She included some dolls, bedding for the dolls, a couple of books, etc. They had a fun night watching fireflies, the beautiful moon and hearing animals scurry by. Sophie wasn't so sure she wanted to spend the whole night out in the tent but they did it! They came in at 7 am ready to make cinnamon rolls and celebrate their big night out!

My big baby!
Sadie had her 4 mo. check up today and she weighed in at 17 lbs, 7 oz and measured 26 inches long. She's off the chart for both, 100th percentile. The doctor said she's the size of an average 7 1/2 month old! Whew! I knew she was heavy to carry around :) We are so happy for the good report. She's on track with all her other milestones, too.

Sadie loves her cereal
No big shocker...my little eater loves her cereal! She knew what to do from the first day. I keep making it a little thicker so that she can keep it in her mouth a little easier and she seems to like it. Sophie had such a hard time with figuring out how to swallow and not choke and she was several months older! Sadie also took a bottle on Monday night, held it all by herself and drank it! She was with Tom and a little desperate for something and he said she drank the whole thing holding it and just staring up at him. So sweet! (and much better for him than the screaming that preceeded that event! Poor Daddy!)
We had a wonderful 4th, although a little rainy. Sophie got on a ride every day that the carnival was in town. I was ready for it to be gone and for normal life to resume! She loved every minute of it. Hope you had a good holiday!
This photo of the girls was taken on the 3rd after we went out to dinner for my Mom's birthday. They both did so well at the restaurant. It was a fun evening!

Sadie updates
Sadie has had her first laugh, has rolled over and is getting more and more expressive every day! She's so fun! I love to see her smile and really want to engage us now. She's very flexible but she will let me know when she's had enough. She'll cry to be put in her crib for a nap...wow. She's growing a ton! We plan on starting cereal sometime in the next week - I can't believe it!

Life is so precious
My uncle passed away a week ago. I spent the week in Michigan with family, remembering his life. He was such a humble, sweet man. He was only 68 years old and he will be missed. It's hard to really grasp that he's gone. He was so full of life, always liked to laugh and joke with people. Losing him makes me appreciate the people I do have in my life and love them even more. We don't know how much time we all have, so it's awful not to appreciate every moment we have. Go tell someone you love them!!!
