Summer Solstice

I love the long days this time of year...but still, they go too fast! All that extra daylight and the days still seem to fly by. I cannot believe this is the last full week of June ahead of us. That's incredible. We spent the first couple of weeks sharing a head cold at our house, so that put a little damper on the beginning of the month. But after that we've been enjoying the beautiful weather! The last week has been incredible. Not too hot, not too humid, just right! We've spent a lot of time outdoors on the back porch, enjoying the weather. Tom's railing project is being put to good use! I can let Sophie be out there without me, and watch from inside with Sadie. But, Sadie does love to be outside too. We've been getting some good walks in. I will say it's time to figure out a new solution for exercise with the two girls. I have been carrying Sadie in the front pack and pushing Sophie and it's getting really difficult. We need a double jogger, but it's not in the budget at the moment! My back is saying it needs to become a necessity soon, though! I have also gotten out for about 2-3 runs a week and am getting to the point of enjoying it again. It will be awhile to get fully back into my old rhythm, but I am so happy to be out there!
Tom has been gone for 4 days and I'm ready for my wing man to return. It's hard at night knowing there's no back up...but we've done really well. The girls are so good, and I am incredibly blessed! We'll be anxious to see him return tomorrow.
It's almost the 4th of July and so much fun and excitement here in our little town! We're already looking forward to it!
